TLC's Philosophy, Mission & Vision

Philosophy:
Through focusing on the whole child, empowering their thoughts, questions, interests, we believe that we will foster a lifelong love of learning. Using a Reggio-Inspired approach and adopting the core values of the Reggio Emilia philosophy we are able to; promote effective and meaningful learning, share in the learning experiences of each child, follow high-quality care standards, and consider new and developing research in the field of early childhood as we thoughtfully and intentionally evolve our practice to best teach the children we serve.
Mission:
The Learning Center will maintain a high quality learning environment for all children. Teachers work to help the children explore their world through thoughtful exploration and reflective documentation. Teachers work to stay current in the field and follow best practices when working with children. Through; provocations, art experiences, and scaffolding teachers are able to learn alongside the children as they give them the tools and encouragement to help each child be successful.
Vision:
Children and Teachers will create a classroom where learning through play is an ongoing shared experience.

Who's Riley?
Hi I'm Riley and up until May 2026 I was a real life in person TLC employee and had been for over 10 wonderful years (see picture proof above). I am so excited to get to stay on in some capacity and do my favorite part of teaching which is sharing my love and curiosity with all of our TLC Teachers. I believe that we are all our best teachers when we are learners ourselves so I hope that together we can all continue to work to grow our own practice through education, experience, passion and empathy! I'm always happy to answer questions or help find an answer together. Text or call me literally anytime and I'm happy to get to work with you! No question to small.
